wonderland.

i sat upon a hilltop as the world lay sprawled beneath me. cars gracefully glided down paths leaving traces of red and white in their wakes, passing houses and buildings resembling game board pieces rather than story high edifices. the city rose from a body of glassy liquid, admiring itself in the reflection of light, and i too remained in awe of the beauty that glistened before me. i gazed at the silhouette of the skyline, lights depicting every curve, thrust against the black of night. curiosity clenched my heart, held captive my soul, and ran wild with my mind as began to...no dared to dream of the excitement that city might hold. of what adventure may be concealed behind the drapes of responsibility, of rationality, of reality. i imagined what it might be like to be intertwined in the arms of the night, following every movement, every step, swirling about in a seamless, eternal lambada. the steady notes held me captive in an exquisite trance as i, like alice, fell ever deeper into the enchanting abyss. suddenly a thunderous horn awakened me from my lofty dream, the source of which tore apart the crystal manifestation of that wondrous sight, and what seemed like a splendid reality soon came to be known as only a fleeting reverie.
