ciao from sienna :) i have finally made it to the beautiful land of rolling green hills and friendly, kind people. italy has been my home for only two days now, after arriving from a crazy fast couple of days in london. i have to say, i am very proud of all that i accomplished whilst in london. in a matter of one and a half days i successfully, although not intimately, beheld the following touristy attractions in london: big ben...classic, parliament, the london eye, the london and tower bridges, the london tower, buckingham palace, funny guards on horseback, the national portrait gallery, piccadilly circus, convent gardens, hyde park, harrods...like nordstrom on steroids, harvey nichols...where princess diana bought her lipstick...duh, westminster abbey, and a ton of others. now all this is quite impressive, i know, however it is not as impressive as my great skill at mastering, no, conquering the tube...aka the underground. all i needed was my day pass and i was zippin around london like there was no tomorrow. london was great fun, energetic, and extremely exhausting, however, its history and beauty can't even compare to that of italy's.
so, i knew that italy was pretty, i mean i have seen eat, pray, love and under the tuscan sun, but words cannot explain how awe inspiring this place is. i arrived in italy at night, and was not fully aware of the beauty that surrounded me until i opened the curtains this morning and saw hill after luscious green hill lined with narrow winding roads. i hope these pictures will give you a glimpse of what i am falling in love with.
well, as for other updates, i begin to learn italian tomorrow (which i am really excited about), i met an old man at the produce market and he helped me learn some italian while selling me clementines and charged 0.50 euro for the fruit and winked as he added "and ten for the lesson"....presh. also, incase you were unaware, yes, the food here is delicious, and yes, i plan on eating a lot of it. ciao for now.
LOVE it! I can't beleive you were able to do all of that the short time you were in London. I bet there is a contant buzz about the upcoming royal Wedding! I look forward to the next update-Italy sounds wonderful already! Ciao to you too! :)
